Brief History

I joined the BBC in 1978 as a Broadcast Engineer at Ealing Film Studios.Where I had the priviledge of working with some of the most innovative and talented people in the industry concentrated in one place.Sadly, this type of organisation for training and creativity does not exist anymore and makes us poorer.

Midway through the Engineering career I changed to sound recording and retrained for the work ahead.

In 1995 I left BBC to pursue freelance career. Lately, I seem to be doing more Features and Commercials and very little television --documentaries and series.

As a sound recordist I may be biased towards sound, but the fact is that as Humans we are quite unique in communicating our emotions and abstract concept with sound, any other medium is very inept.

Over the years I have worked in many countries besides England but prefer to work in warmer climate if I have a choice. Good sense of humour having seen and worked with characters from all walks of life.(having said that, there is always one that you haven't met yet!)

In the past I used to give few days a year to help new people get on the film ladder. But, as time has gone on I find that this kind of investment does not pay the bills. Sadly, I no longer take this kind of work anymore.

However, If you are looking for work as boom or trainee you are welcome to send me your CV but please be honest and do not build up your part as this will waste both our time.
